The height of the almond tree is 4 to 10 meters and its diameter can reach more than 30 centimeters. The amount of energy per 100 grams of almonds is 576 kilocalories. The United States and Spain are the biggest producers of Almond in the world. Almonds are rich in protein, vitamin E, calcium, magnesium and potassium which are beneficial for the body. There are two types of almonds in the world; sweet almonds and bitter almonds. The bitter almond brain contains a small amount of cyanide, a potassium carbonic acid, which if consumed by a person is poisoned. Bitter almonds should be heat-treated or pasteurized in order to eliminate toxic chemical substances.
